About

Music.
Identity.
Presence.

DiskoStick is a London-based DJ, broadcaster and producer with over thirty years of professional experience across live events, television, radio and music production.

Performing behind a signature mirrored disco mask with a consistent and established visual identity, DiskoStick brings musical intelligence, professional discipline and a distinctive presence to every performance.

We spend our lives presenting constructed versions of ourselves, but underneath it all we’re all just ordinary people. Sometimes we need to be reminded.

DiskoStick has performed live mashups as a constant part of every set for over twenty years — combining stems from different recordings in real time to create combinations that exist only in that room, on that night. Every performance is, in that sense, an exclusive.

The visual signature was developed through DiscoExposed, a performance art project exhibited at the London Contemporary Art Show, Hoxton 2026. It is not costume. It is not spectacle. It is simply who DiskoStick is.

The Sound

Disco.
Soul.
Joy.

DiskoStick plays disco from the roots up. Rooted in the Philadelphia sound, the Salsoul catalogue, MFSB and First Choice — the deeper architecture of Black American dance music that most DJs in the current revival don't know well enough to play. Sets move through the familiar and the forgotten, the obvious and the rare, building gradually rather than chasing the drop.

Live mashups are a constant and natural part of every performance — built over twenty years of stem separation across the Philly soul, Salsoul and soul catalogue. Vocals from one recording placed over basslines from another. Philly strings layered over a different groove. Original percussion added live in response to the room. Every performance is, in that sense, an exclusive.

Warm, groove-focused and broadly accessible — from the elegance of classic Chic and the joyful campness of Gloria Gaynor and ABBA, to the deeper Solar Records and Jam & Lewis soul of the 1980s. Music that makes people dance and feel something simultaneously.

Performance Formats

Three
Formats.
One Identity.

DiskoStick is a clothing-optional DJ. The exposed body is a permanent part of the visual signature and is present at every performance. Three formats are available — agreed in advance to suit the venue, audience and context — but the signature itself does not change.

Contextual

Full visual signature, fully exposed. For clothing-optional, body-positive and arts-focused environments.

Ideal for: clothing-optional events, body-positive festivals, arts contexts

Conceptual

Partial adaptation. Symbolic integrity retained while moderating direct exposure for threshold or mixed environments.

Ideal for: cultural events, mixed audiences, professional programmes

Considered

Fully clothed. Mask and tailoring retained. Full musical performance. Every bit as DiskoStick.

Ideal for: mainstream venues, festival stages, brand contexts

Philosophy

A
Manifesto

On the weekend. On the dancefloor. On the DJ who stepped out of the booth. On the body underneath the performance. A unified statement of what DiskoStick is, where it comes from, and what it is trying to create.

The most important thing happening in a club was never the DJ. It was always the people.
